Intake manifold, 3D printed and aluminum casted
Submitted by Martijn on Mon, 08/18/2008 - 00:31
For my tuned classic motorbike I needed a custom made intake manifold. I started off measuring the length and angle needed for the part, then created it in a 3D application
At ProtoSpace Utrecht I imported the file in the 3D printer app.

After two hours printing this showed up :-)

cleaned
After carefully removing the surrounding powder the part needed to be impregnated with super glue to make it durable.

Fitting

A rubber mold was made around the printed part and a wax model was casted, then an aluminum part was casted.
