laser cutter
the toek-toek robot
Hello Everybody, this will be my final project for the Fablab, because I am finishing my internship next week.
In a previous project I used a EEG headset to control a small robot.
This was fun, it was very exciting, but the robot was ugly. In fact, it was very functional, but boring.
Therefore I will transform this robot into a small car.
This car will be, as suggested by the fablab manager Alex Schaub, a toek toek!

Laser cutting Parafilm

GloveBox
The VASTAL Virginarium is a six person Glove Box artistically designed by Adam Zaretsky and Mason Juday. The glove box is being made using the WAAG Society¹s FabLab laser cutting and rapid prototyping machinery. It is designed to provide a sterile field for Bioart Laboratories. But it is also designed for public performances, which revolve around cultural interpretive issues of purity, sterility and cleanliness.

Invitation production line / wood cut
The goal is to make approx. 50 wooden invites (12 x 9 cm) using the laser cutter.
The invitations have a rasterized picture on the front, text at the back, and a little stand. To have the invitation rest on the stand, we burned a shape 2 mm into the wood. Settings for this were speed 19 and power 95.

Laser Engraving
Laser Engraving a Notebook
Prepare: JPEG formated images can be engraved with the laser. I have found that a simple image gives the laser novice a more satisfying result.
FYI: When doing cutouts on the laser, images must be vector format. Therefore you will save time by converting your image files to vectors before your reservation at the FabLab.
